"I have never seen anyone quite like Julie-Ann...her arrangements and timing are unusual and she has a beautiful sweetness and light, with a dark edge"..............

"Julie-Ann weaves a beautiful and haunting energy throughout her audience"......
Tina - Comment sent after gig at The Harp Hotel (Aug 13, 2005)
Upon listening to Goin' Somewhere, I felt a kind of awe and yearning for beauty.
The first track was a shock, but in the breath-taking sense. Deceptivley simple, it bears listening to time and again. Not for the complexity of the arrangement or the playing(although that itself is nice), but for the sheer emotion conveyed. The other tracks build on this and become facets making up the whole. A rewarding experience.
Julie-Ann sings with such clarity and purity, it made me wish I'd bought better stereo equipment!
As I listened in the car, I found myself being drawn into the songs. The music has the precision of a maestro, and yet the simplicity of a true artist. The quality of guitar playing was superb, and I have since come to admire the instrument. Julie-Ann has written all the tracks, laden with emotion and performed and sung flawlessly. Their words tell a story, and the sound somehow stirs one's own memories - some of them long-forgotton of another world. A world of beauty and contempaltive peace. As I drove along in the rain, Julie-Ann's CD made an otherwise slow peak-hour drive seem like a very special journey.

In her 5 set EP Julie-Ann takes us on her musical journey "going somewhere".
She plums the ambiguity of the human soul; those mysterious clouds of unknowing- where everything remains just out of grasp- but very often, she comes up from the compositional depths with a rare mellifluous gem, that dazzle and amaze ; with the brilliance of each song, a new facet to be contemplated by the listener.
The Songs have an ancient, almost haunting feel-juxtaposed nicely with a happily detached or bemused quality; contemplative of the nature of existence- a meaningful meander, searching and plotting a course through a world of shifting sands and quicksilver mirage; a beacon for the weary traveller.
The beauty of her vocal lyricism reflects a seductive grace and clarity of tone of the highest quality. Each song on the E.P. is a kaleidoscope of a rare Australian talent.
